AGUA

“AGUA"

is an expression often voiced to cheer flamenco singers, musicians and dancers.

A vocalization of excitement towards a flamenco performance, reflection of enjoyment and joy.

This exhibition is an exploration of the traditional and contemporary flamenco artists of today.

Seen through the mediums of Tintype, Polaroid and film.

The concept behind the photos is the idea that the sound of flamenco lives in its own world,

like water and it brings new things. The pictures together are meant to express this feeling of evolution, exploration and tradition. The images on display were taken during the "FESTIVAL PACO DE LUCIA 2022". Which was celebrating the influence, impact and development in history of flamenco and central to the flamenco guitar music of Paco de Lucía.

In flamenco, water is said to represent emotion and longing.

Water also serves as a powerful metaphor for the journey between life and death.
